ABOUT

About the Company

Betta Build Group has years of experience helping clients to move through the often complex, time consuming and generally disruptive process of working on your home. We help families to achieve their dreams with as little fuss as possible. Each step is carefully considered and discussed with our clients to bring out the best in your project. The process from first visit through design, costing, council consent, commissioning, completion and clean up and hand over is done by our own people.

Our Process

Step 1: First Appointment

Your design consultant visits you for a 1-2 hour meeting.

What do WE do?

  • Analyse your existing home, and discuss your needs, goals and preferences.
  • Bounce some design ideas off you, and discuss the associated costs.

What do YOU do?

  • The more you can tell them, the better.
  • Have a few sketches and a budget ready.

Step 2: Design Measure

Your design consultant visits again to measure up & refine your ideas.

What do WE do?

  • Measure and photograph your home.
  • Perform a comprehensive audit, covering materials required, position of sewer lines, easements, access points, set-backs, asbestos, etc.
  • Fine tune your plan and ideas.

What do YOU do?

  • Prepare a scrapbook for this meeting. Photos & magazine clippings are invaluable, and it’s also very helpful if you know what style you’re after (e.g. Traditional? Modern? A mix of both?)

Step 3: Drawing Your Plans

We draw the plans for your proposed renovation & prepare your Preliminary Plans Agreement (PPA).

What do WE do?

  • Prepare a contour survey if required.
  • Draw a plan of your existing home.
  • Draw plans for your proposed renovation.
  • Prepare costings.
  • Prepare coloured perspective drawings (internal and external).
  • Prepare Preliminary Plans Agreement (PPA) drawings and documentation.

What do YOU do?

The more you can tell them, the better.

Step 4: PPA Meeting

Your design consultant visits to discuss the Preliminary Plans Agreement (PPA) drawings and documentation.

What do WE do?

  • Present your renovation floor plans for approval.
  • Present your colour perspective drawings for approval (internal and external, including wet areas such as bathrooms).
  • Present fixed price costings.
  • Provide details all inclusions and exclusions.

What do YOU do?

  • Look at your plans and drawings.
  • Consider the price and inclusions.
  • Ask lots of questions.
  • If you’re happy with everything, sign off on the PPA plans.

Step 5: Check Measure

Your design consultant visits to discuss the Preliminary Plans Agreement (PPA) drawings and documentation.

What do WE do?

  • Perform a thorough inspection to ensure that everything in the PPA drawings can be built and nothing has been missed.
  • Perform a thorough construction and structural inspection (so there are no surprises after contract). This includes photos, notes and measurements of all areas, including in the roof and under the house.
  • Take photos of skirting boards, cornices, mouldings, bricks, gutters, roof tiles, existing structures, etc., to ensure all new materials match.

What do YOU do?

  • Sign the contract.

Step 6: Approval

We get all the necessary approvals (council, etc.).

What do WE do?

  • Submit applications for all the necessary approvals, including building license, building permits and water corporation approvals.

What do YOU do?

  • Nothing!

Step 7: Pre - start

Choose your colours, selections and upgrades.

What do WE do?

  • Walk you through your colour and selection options in our showroom.
  • Offer guidance on the latest trends and ‘must haves’.
  • Price any upgrades.
  • Amend plans and addenda with any changes, and supply final versions for your approval.
  • Instruct our scheduling department to order materials and start construction.

What do YOU do?

  • This is the exciting part for you! You visit our showroom and pick your colours and selections, and choose any upgrades. (E.g. Stone bench-tops instead of Laminex?)
  • Sign off on final plans and addenda.

TIP: By signing off quickly, you enable a faster start on construction.

Step 8: Construction

This is where you start to see things happen.

What do WE do?

  • Get our professional tradespeople to complete your renovation, as planned, to budget, and with fixed start and end dates.
  • Minimise disruption to your day-to-day life, so you can continue living in your home while we work.

What do YOU do?

  • Nothing!

Welcome to your new home!
